U visa update (U-1 nonimmigrant status for victims of violent crime)

Fantastic news for our U visa clients! Today we have received the first letter in our office confirming that our U visa client is currently on the waitlist for the U visa, deferred action was granted, and our client may be eligible for a work permit, if economic necessity is established.

These are fabulous news for all our U visa clients because this is the first letter of this kind our office had received since U visa statutory maximum of 10,000 petitions was reached in December 11, 2013.

We are grateful to the immigration services for the swift follow up on their promise to establish the U visa wait list and review petitions to determine eligibility for deferred action. This is great help to victims of violent crimes here in the USA. Call your attorney or The Law Office of Natalia Malyshkina if you were a victim of a violent crime here in the USA, cooperated with the authorities in persecuting the crime and need immigration counselling.
